Former Lois & Clark actor Dean Cain slammed Marvel for news Captain America comic strip in which the hero loses faith in the American dream.
In the recently published issue Captain America’s United States # 1, the character gives a speech that upsets conservatives who do not seem to understand that Cap has always fought for a better America, without blindly supporting his government.
“I’m not loyal to anything except the dream,” Steve Rogers says in the comic. âHere’s the thing about a dream, though. A dream is not real. I’m starting to think America actually has two dreams and one lie. The first American dream is the one that is not real. This is the one that some people expect to be given to them. And then they get angry when it goes away. When the truth is, he never really existed in the first place. ⦠We are at our best when we do not exclude anyone. A good dream is shared. Shared radically. Shared with everyone. “
Speaking on Fox and his friends this week, Cain suggested the comic was overly politicizing Captain America, who wasâcheck the notes– saw Adolf Hitler punching Adolf Hitler in the face on his first comic book cover in 1941. Cain said he was “so tired of this awakening and anti-Americanism”.
The 54-year-old added: âWe just celebrated our 245th anniversary. In my opinion America is the greatest country in history. It’s not perfect. We are constantly striving for a more perfect union, but I think it is the fairest and most equitable country we have ever seen, and that is why people are clamoring to come from all over the world. “
Dean Cain previously portrayed Superman / Clark Kent on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman from 1993 to 1997. He also appeared on the CW’s Super girl, but not in the same role. In 2016 and 2020, the actor supported Donald Trump for the presidency. While Cain has claimed to have somewhat progressive beliefs when it comes to social issues, this actor has frequently appeared on both Fox News and Stronger with Crowder, an online show hosted by right-wing commentator and alleged comedian Steven Crowder.
