FX releases teaser for upcoming season three of Atlanta

After announcing a premiere date earlier this week, FX released the first teaser for the third season of their Emmy-winning comedy, Atlanta. The long-delayed series returns after a hiatus of almost four years. Watch the video below.

The last time we saw Eran, Paper Boi and Darius, the three friends were on their way to Amsterdam to share tour dates with a mischievous artist from Chance The Rapper with a nasty streak. From the teaser, it looks like the rapper, his manager and the fashion man, joined by Earn’s girlfriend Vanessa, are all enjoying the booty of success. But nothing is ever all, it’s cracked to be in the Atlanta universe. The series has ventured into the traps that the illusion of fame can bring to its orbit, particularly in the dog-eater culture of the music industry.

After taking a hiatus due to Glover and the actors’ busy schedules, production of the third season was halted due to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. Once filming began overseas, the actors and the team focused on recording two seasons three and four consecutively.

The show stars Donald Glover (Community, Guava Island) as Earn, a struggling college dropout who sees his chance to succeed by becoming the manager of his rapper cousin. Brian Tyree Henry (Marvel’s Eternals, if Beale Street could speak) is Alfred aka Paper Boi, the cousin, client and trendy artist of Earn who hopes to be ATL’s next big hit. Lakeith Stanfield (Judas and the black Messiah the more they fall) plays Darius, Paper Boi’s temperamental friend who just happens to be there to clown. And Zazie Beetz (The more they fall, Joker) is Vanessa, Earn’s girlfriend and the mother of his child. As she and Earn go their separate ways to do their makeup, they strive to do what’s best for their son.

Created by Glover, the comedy-drama received critical acclaim in its first season, winning two Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. Its second season, subtitled “Robbin ‘Season”, explored much darker themes in standout episodes such as “Alligator Man” with guest star Katt Williams. (Next Friday, first Sunday); a solo episode starring Henry titled “Woods”; and, the brilliant black pop star tragedy titled “Teddy Perkins”. The second season earned 13 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actor for Glover, Supporting Actor and Actress for Henry and Beetz, respectively, and a win for Williams for Outstanding Guest Actor in Comedy. .

that of Atlanta the third season is slated for a two-episode premiere on Thursday, March 24, with episodes available the next day on Hulu. The first two seasons are available to stream now on Hulu.
