Kevin Spacey: Hollywood actor accused of four sexual assaults

Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey is due in court tomorrow after being charged with four counts of sexual assault against three men.

Spacey, 62, who is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning, has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.

The charges come after a review by the Crown Prosecution Service of evidence gathered by Met Police.

The Oscar-winning actor was charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a man, now in his 40s, in March 2005 in London; sexual assault on a man who is now in his thirties, in August 2008 in London and a separate count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent on the same man.

He was also charged with sexually assaulting a man, now in his 30s, in April 2013 in Gloucestershire.

Spacey previously said he would travel to the UK to face the charges.

The Crown Prosecution Service authorized charges against him last month, but Spacey could not be charged until he traveled to the UK.

Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS’s Special Crimes Division, previously said: “The CPS has authorized criminal proceedings against Kevin Spacey, 62, on four counts of sexual assault against three men.

“He was also charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without their consent.

“The charges follow a review of evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in their investigation.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that the criminal proceedings against Mr. Spacey are active and that he is entitled to a fair trial.”

Following the CPS announcement, Spacey said in a statement to Good Morning America: “While I am disappointed with their decision to move forward, I will voluntarily appear in the UK as soon as possible and defend against these charges, which I am sure I will prove my innocence.
