The Last of Us series already has Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey and Gabriel Luna – among others – in its cast. So what’s one more?

Thanks to actor Murray Bartlett, it looks like Nick Offerman (yes, this Nick Offerman, of renowned Parks & Rec) joins the HBO show.

Bartlett, who is expected to play Bill Frank’s partner in The Last of Us series, said The Guardian that “A lot of my scenes are with Nick Offerman. Performing with him was awesome.”

It is not yet clear who would play Offerman, although it could very well be an original character since (spoilers) Frank is not alive in the original Last of Us game – and there has been talk of ” improve “the story for the small screen.

In The Last of Us series, Bartlett had nothing but praise for series co-creator Craig Mazin. “The scripts he wrote blew my head off. It’s an epic spectacle, but beautifully human and intimate,” Bartlett said.

The Last of Us series is currently filming in Canada, and a handful of leaked videos and set photos gave us a glimpse of what to expect. There’s Joel, Ellie, and Tommy in Jackson in a video, while an earlier mushroom-filled image marks the start of Joel and Ellie’s journey out west.

No word yet on a release date, although Tommy actor Gabriel Luna has said it will be “sooner rather than later” and a director has a “2022” release window on his Instagram page. Here’s hoping.

To get a glimpse of what’s coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X next year, here’s our recap of video game release dates in 2022.
